How to skip review step in Portal ESS?

Hi all,

Currently users apply leave requests in Portal ESS(6.00 SP11) have to go through apply, reveiw and send three steps, that's too much. Some document says the review step can be skipped by personalization or customizing, but I don't know how. Is there anyone did that before or have some tips, please tell me. That's really important to me!
