Forecast disaggregation

Hi all,

i am new to the planning and i would like to understand something on forecast disaggregation. It seems that is possible only to disaggregate by product/location. One of the requirement we have here is to disaggregate the forecast also by customer. I want to understand if it is possible to have such a disaggregation. Here are used to make analyze demand by customer percentages and they want to make such percentages analysis also on the forecast.

Another question I have is about where the forecast data is stored. Is it stored into a cube or just in the livecache. We would like it to be stored into a cube so that we could be able to built some reports.

thanks in advance for your help

Marco

Hi Murali,

Aggregation is the process of automatic function by which key figures values on the lowest level of detail are summed at run time and displayed.or planned on a high level.

Exp: If u want to disp the forecasted demand for a region in IDP table, what we see is the forecasted demand for all of the diff sales channels, product families, brands, products, and customers in that region which the sys has added together.

LC10 for live cache monitoring

/SAPAPO/STOCKALC - FOR LIVE CACHE DATA

/SAPAPO/0M19 - Live cache data browser

the data will be stored in live cache.(Time series live cache for APO using LCA)

and LDA for ATP.

write the data in live cache using BAPI or Function Module

Live Cache access: select * from /sapapo/stockanc into table it_stock connection lca where charg in char.

Hi Marco,

Basically for Disagg to take place you need to forecast at a higher level and not at the lowest level of detail.

The Dissaggregation takes place at the lowest level ie at the CVC level. The dissagg percentages depend on the dissagg type that you must have defined in the Planning e.g. Proportional, based on diff KF, Pro-rata etc.

If you have defined it as "P" ie based on different KF then the dissagg percentages will be based on that KF.

Alternatively you can base the dissagg on Prop factors.

Pls let me know if you need ne other details

Hi Desai,

thanks for your help. I just have some additional questions. is there any standard infocube that can be used to store forecast results? some infocube that could be activated from the BI content? and obviously also some datasource/infosource.. Or I should build everything from scratch? in this case could you give me some hints about data extraction/copy from livecache? I am a BW consultant but actually i ve never used livecache as source system, so i don't know if i should take care of somegthing in particular. some inputs would be really appreciated. About the forecast disaggregation, i forgot to say that we are using SCM 5.1 and that a TDL is being used. As a consequence, are the hints for DP 5.0 still valid here? thanks again

Hi Marco,

Following Links may help you better understand dissagregaton.

Regarding Forecast data storage, It is possible to store data in Live Cache or Infocube. You need to decide how you want to store data in Key figure.

If you want to store forecast data in Infocube than there might be diferent approach to store data in Infocube Key figure.

1. Forecast in Live cache and copy data to infocube

Or

2. Define Infocube Keyfigure in Planning area and directly store data in infocube.

Its all your choice.
