Hello
I've installed BO v11.5 release 3.0 and have come across the following error after setting everything up
The Universe data connection could not be found. The connection has been deleted or you don't have the right to use it. (WIS 000509)..
The connection does exist, I can see it in the administrator panel and in the designer. The connection in the designer connects successfully to the database (verified using the "Test" button) but when I go to "Refresh Data" from Infoview for a specific query, I get the error above. This has been installed the same way on 4 machines and this is the only one with this issue. TIA
Hi Larry,
You need to set the user Security for the connection object. The user you have logged in WEBI may be does not have enough privilege to use this connection.
To change the security settings:
1. From the CMC, go to Connections->choose your connection from the list of connections.
2. Click "Manage->User Security"
3. Add user/Group and the appropriate security level.
4. Save the changes.
5. Try to refresh the report again.
Hope it helps.

Tanveer.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have combed over those settings for the last two days to no avail. I have deleted and restored the connection and its security properties multiple times and I still get the error from Infoview.
Larry
Edit Ive also tried logging in from the Admins account and I am still having the same issues...

Hi Larry,
Where are you running designer from? Is it on the server - if not the issue may be that the connection will details are not availble on the server. For instance the ODBC setting might not be available on the server.

Alan
