ECM Integration with Internal Order

Hello Gurus,

I know through C-Projects we can tie up the C-Project suite to Internal Order and then capture the Planned Costs and the Actual Costs in the Internal Order.

Is their a way by which we can create a link between 'ECM and Internal Order' and capture all the Planned/Actual costs. We dont want to use C-Projects.

Thanks in advance. Points would be awarded for useful answer.

Regards,

Sachin

    Dear Sachin

In ECM there is an option of Engineering change request and converting the same into Engineering change orders. This can be used for cost capturing.

Please go thru the link and check whether this is of any help to you

    Hi Gajesh,

Thanks for the answer. I am sorry but I dont understand how I can attach Internal order and capture cost through ECR/ECO. I know it can be done through C-Projects, but I want to use ECR/ECO to satisfy my client req to capture cost using ECR/ECO and Internal order and not to use C-projects.

    Can you explain furthur.

    Thanks,

    Sachin

    Hello Sachin

We are doing this by intergration with KB21N. We have defined an activity type also for this. So when you completed the ECO, it will call the KB21N transaction let me capture the order number ( ECO order number) , cost center, and activity type.

Is that you are looking for ?

    Hi Gajesh.

Thanks for the answer. I am exactly looking for this. Could you give me more details on this Internal Order ECM integration. You mentioned about activity (How you achieved assigning activities), can you mention planned time/Actual time and Rs/dollar amounts against these activities in ECM and then pass the cumulated Rs/Dollar amount to Internal order so that the complete cost can be captured to internal order.

    Thanks,

    Sachin

    Dear Sachin,

Hope you know the process of ECM.

What we have done to capture cost is that we have created an activity type as Change time . An internal order is also created for the same.

When the actual change in the system is done and when ECO is released we are calling KB21N transaction automatically filling the activity type and internal order number. User exit is used for this (PCCD0003 ECM: Check when setting a system status).User has just to enter the time he has spent on the change process and the sender cost center. Already fixed price is maintained for the activity type.

So the cost gets captured and is settled on the cost center.

    Hope this helps

      Hi Gajesh,

This is very useful. Would it possible for you to send some snapshots for the same. I am exactly looking for the same solution. You have talked about one activity Type. Is it possible to put different activity types if different Rs/Dollars are assigned to different activities.

      Thanks,

      Sachin

    Hello Sachin

Regarding activity it is better to have consultation with your CO consultant. Normaly one prefer to have one activity type defined for all the cases having the activity a fixed price. But in your case if you need to capture in for different costs they you need to get the help of CO guy as my knowledge short in this.I think you can alos use CATS option for the same.

We have activated the cost capturing once the ECO is released and saved. The activity type is same for all changes that we do through ECM. For major changes we capture more time (eg 20 hrs) while doing the cost capturing . for minor changes we take lesser time ( eg 1 Hr ).

Please let me know if you need more explanation

    Regards

    Gajesh
