Doubts on Table CSKA Cost Elements (Data Dependent on Chart of Accounts)

Hello SDNers,

In table CSKA Cost Elements (Data Dependent on Chart of Accounts) following fields are maintained

MANDT

KTOPL

KSTAR

ERSDA

USNAM

STEKZ

ZAHKZ

KSTSN

FUNC_AREA

but in the output list of the table it also displays

Name

Description

Short text

Where arer these values for the cost element maintained.

Hi Nambiar,

the last 3 fields are displayed from the CSKU table based on the key fields combination of

SPRAS

KTOPL

KSTAR.

Hi Eric,

Yes it is not populating in the search help of KA06.

The tables CSKA, CSKB, CSKU has records for the one which Iam looking for.

KA06 is to create secondary cost element, for display you can use KA03.

On the other hand there could be a number of reasons why it is not displayed in KA06 (I guess you mean it is not displayed in the search help):

-the cost element is deleted (CSKB-LOEVM = 'X') or deactivated (CSKB-DEAKT = 'X')

-the cost element is not created for the cotrolling area you currently use (check CSKB-KOKRS)

-the number of displayed cost elements are restricted to 500 by default

But can you help with my problem.

Why is it that on F4 help for cost element on KS06 it is not displaying all the entries eventough the cost elements values are maintained in the table CSKA, CSKB.

It is only displaying a couple of them.???

I told you that already: in KA06 you maintain secondary cost elements only, for primary ones you have to use KA01 / KA02 / KA03.

Ya I am working on secondary cost element KS06.

And how do we get to know that is it primary or secondary cost element from tables

CSKB-KATYP will tell you that

UPDATE: the valuesare hardcoded in domain KATYP. If one value is primary or secondary, that is hardcoded into FM RK_COSTELEMENT_CLASSIFY

The reason why I have posted this query is.

Cost elements are maintained in both the tables CSKA, CSKB

Now when I goto KS06 and perform a F4 help on cost elemens it is not showing all the cost elements

available in the table.

What could be a reasonto this.

When I checked the table CSKA the names for all the cost elements are not maintained.

On KS06 it is only displaying those cost elements for which names are maintained in CSKA.

Now how do I get all the values on KS06 or

And when I check CSKU names are maintained there.

Help really appreciated and rewarded.

there are primary and secondary cost elements. Primary cost elements are created from G/L accounts (with same number), secondary cost elements can be anything (but could be used inside CO only). In KA06 (not KS06) you can display secondary cost elements, for primary cost elements pls. use KA03. All cost elements (primary and secondary) are maintained in tables CSKA and CSKB.

pls. checkt table CSKU, which is text table for CSKA (if you display CSKA in SE11 and in menu : GoTo => Text Table. this will take you to CSKU)
