Hi Vijay,
I m beginner in SAP XI and i think, so i m not able to follow the blog.
I have doubts like... Why do we need to create Logical System,RFC Destinatuion, Distribution model, Partner Profile etc... Whats the main purpose of creating it...First of all i would like to ask what is ALE and how come it is related to IDoc.
Thanks
Sweety
Hi Sweety,
ALE stands for Application Link Enabling. ALE is a technology which enables to send and receive data between SAP systems.
IDOC stands for Intermediate Document. IDOC is a format in which data from SAP is sent to other SAP systems.
If you have any other questions, please let me know.

Hi Sweety,
ALE configuration is done for pushing or posting IDOCs from SAP to XI because see you want to send IDOC from SAP to XI, so how will SAP know where to send the IDOC, which RFC connection to use to send IDOC etc........so there informations are maintained in ALE configuration for IDOCs.

hi,
for both ends (IDOC configuration in R/3 and IDOC configuration in XI/PI)
have a look at this book:
