SAP SD Equipment Service configuration - Retail

Hi Experts,

Our client wants to have tool rental ( tools like drilling machine, tables,...etc )

As of now we have created with contract and followed by release order then completed.

Here the Question is, how can we calculate and decide the service for the machine.

Ex:

Drilling machine, it should be service on every 40 hours of usage.

customer might take the tool today and returning tomorrow, how can we calculate the machine usage hours. obviously he wont use the machine continuously 24 hours.

any idea on machine level settings and SAP SD configuration or enahncemnt logic.

Very much confused by this question... Unless you have the actual usage counter on the equipment (like the odometer on a car) or the customer honestly tells you how much they've used it it's impossible to know how much the tool has been used. This has nothing to do with SAP, just a simple logic.

I guess you could make an assumption based on what an average usage is under normal operating conditions and go with that.

Sorry but this seems more like an engineering question that you'd need to ask to the specialists who work with this equipment. I'm not sure what answers are expected on this from the SCN members...
