How to stop dialog instance without impact running transactions?

Hi experts,

As we known, all SAP instances share workload. I can remove login balance from SMLG to avoid dialog users logon, but how do I deal with update processes and backgrounds processes. If I terminate update processes or stop dialog instances directly, sometimes it causes a lot of update errors or background jobs cancel. How do I avoid this? Is there a normal procedure I could stop just one dialog instance?
