Hi all,

Generally,If there are any exceptions in the webdynpro application it will give an errror

500 internal server error and gives the total description of the error say like java.nullpointer.exceptionm or some exception with the line number .

But to my surprise in my protal server it is giving only 500 internals server. Is it due to any settings in the server or due to some bug in my server?

where this type of erros are saved .Any log file will be generated for such type of exception errors ?If so please let me know where i can check it?

Thanks and Regards,

Rajesh

Issue Solution

Logs do not come up Check if WebAS service "tc.monitoring.logviewer" references library "tc~ni".

To do this, on the Portal "server" console, write:

>add deploy

>llr service:tc.monitoring.logviewer

The output must contain a line like:

"library:tc~ni"

If line above does not exists, refer to Note 721854;

otherwise check the Central Note

Hi Rajesh,

Please check the following links:

/people/yoni.mizrachi/blog/2008/01/07/http-dirty-talks-1

which says:

500 (Internal Server Error) - You have a problem, or better said - your server has a problem. Something is very wrong with this request on the server side. Probably you can find some errors in the log files...

Depending upon the type of application executed there are different SAP support notes available for such an error: 1215019, 1210106, 1215060, 1215724, 1278978, 1220057,1214658.

Also these articles talk about the same thing:

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/30170d27-3240-2b10-8a98-d9ef14af...

https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/e02c814b-7d61-2910-cf95-e51ea3ac...

It basically depends upon the type of application you are executing. Much more help is available if you search yourself on SDN and do check in the log files on the server.
