Dear All,

AM facing an problem in the Detailed Navigation when we access our Portal through Internet..

In the Detailed Navigation , we are not able to view the iView Links added to the u2018Learning Solutionu2019 the workset which is added to the u2018Learning solution Roleu2019 . But the roles are displayed in the TLN and the first iView 'Learning Solution" which is added to the Workset is displayed in the Portal Content Area. Under Detailed Navigation, the iView links are not displayed.

But through , Intranet it is working fine. We are facing the above problem only when we access our portal through internet.

Here is my role structure.

Hi Eben Joyson,

Please check if you are using the full qualified host name i. e. portal.sap.com in the URL for accessing through internet. It is sometimes a network issue.

There are few options we can try:

1.Also check with the DNS server.

2.Try restarting the server and it will work the first time itself.

3.Compare the Browser settings from the workstation to internet. Set the custom level from browser Tools -> Internet Options -> Security -> Security Level for this zone -> Custom Level to low.

4.In Internet Explorer go to Tools->Internet Options->Privacy

Move the slider down to Accept All Cookies.Click OK.

5.go to c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\host file

add a entry (ipaddress hostname)

111.211.222.111 XXX

The SAP Note 976331 also depicts a similar problem at Detailed Navigation but for SP8 and resolved at SPS11.

Please try these options.Hope these will be helpful.

Regards,

Shaila

Hi Shaila kasha ,

Thank you for your useful reply. Its the problem with the Browser only. The same is working fine with Mozilla Firefox.

I too check with your solution.

I have another one issue . I want to allow the portal users to login either with their user id or user alias name. The user store is in ABAP Engine. How to do this?

Please so help me in solving this issue.

Thank You.

Hi Eben,

As you said the ABAP Engine has the user stored, and if this Users have different IDs in the portal and in ABAP-based SAP systems, users and administrators can map usersu2019 portal user ID to their ABAP user ID in a SAP reference system.

If your ABAP Engine is acting as your Datasource other than J2EE then ADS plays a very important Role. The blog shows many inputs on this configuration.
