Work item "000000070953" cannot be executed in status "WAITING

Hello workflow Expert,

We are on SRM SREVER 5.5. We are using one step approval for contract. While releasing one of the contract which is in held status it is not changing its staus to awaiting approval. There is no error in swi6 and pftc for the contract except the workitem is in status waiting.

When I tried to exeute workitem in swia i got the following message "Work item "000000070953" cannot be executed in status "WAITING"

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.

    Hi,

    You can try this:-

    Clear the buffer in SWU_OBUF and then try triggering WF again..!!

    Manually execute that WokItem Now.

    Hi Praveen,

    Please check if for the workitem 70953 in the workflow there is a Requested Start set. It could be because of this that the workflow is still in waiting stage. To maunally execute the waiting step :

    1. Execute SWWA T-code

    2. On the Application tool bar click on button 'Save & Schedule' and say 'Yes'

    All deadline job will be completed.

      Any suggestions please. This is happening on our production system only. Also this is not

      occuring for all contracts but only to few on a re- occuring basis. We want to know what is the root cause of the problem and why these contracts workitem status is in waiting.
