Integration of SAP XI and none SAP tools

Hi!

I would like to start working with SAP XI.

Where can I find the Step by Step case studies describing different SAP XI scenarios (IDOC/ALE, RFC, File, etc.).

What is the most famous example of integration of SAP XI and none SAP tools?

Are there tool free of charge and can be downloaded?

Thank you very much!

regards

Search in SDN like "XI tutorial" or "XI step by step". There are many documents available laying out the basics of XI/PI.

XI has many ways to let systems talk to each other, like web service, file, JMS, RFC, proxy, IDOC, etc.

I don't know if you can download PI for free or not. Even if you cna download for free, it'll be lot of effort to set it up, I guess. It's normally a task of the whole basis team.

PI can't be downloaded for free.

For various scenarios please search on sdn.
