Java SDK and Java Webstart version for SAP NetWeaver 7.0

Hi XI/PI experts!

I work with SAP XI 7.0 (SAP NetWeaver 7.0, SPS 14) and use Java Webstart 1.6.0.

When I access to XI Configuration Tool it is not possible to use the buton "Map the elements from same structure" im Message Mapping.

Can some one tell me please whether I need a other Java Web Start version or to patch th Java stack of SAP XI system to higher SPS?

Thank you very much!

regards

Hello ,

How did you try do the map the elements from same structure. It did not work for me when i try to do the same by expanding node and substree and when i test the same by collapsing all the subelements it worked for me.

I was working on SAP PI 7.0 with JWS 1.5

Use JDK 1.4.xx for best results.

Just uncheck 1.6 from your java webstart settings.

Hi!

Many thanks!

How to uncheck 1.6 from the java webstart settings?

Is a J2EE patch from SPS14 to SPS17 useful?

Thank you!

On your windows machine -> Start -> Run -> javaws -> File -> Preferences -> Java, there you will find entries for JDK installed on your machine. After installing 1.4.xx, you need to uncheck 1.6 and make sure 1.4 is checked.

I hope I have provided the exact path

Hi!

Many thanks for your response.

Unfortunately when I call >javaws no further actions happened.

What is the exact commando name?

Thank you!

javaws is nothing but the command to start Java WebStart. You may also open it through Start -> All Programs -> Java WebStart. Make sure you actually have one of the JDKs installed.

Did you install jdk1.4.2_XX in your system?

search javaws.exe located in your system

execute that one File->Preferences->Java (tab)->Check jdk1.4.2_xx and uncheck jdk1.6.0_06.

Dear Axel,

I also faced the same problem. First thing you have to remove the Java Web Start version from control panel which is higher version than 1.4.XX. After removing follow the steps.

=> Start--> Run --> javaws

=> It will open the Java Application cache viewer -->Edit --> Preferences --> Java Control Panel

=> Goto tab Java --> Java Application Runtime Settings --> View

=> Here you will get the list of Java Runtime versions. Disable the 1.6 and close the window and try to open the integration repository.

You Can goto Cantrol panel and remove your Java Web start version ...Then restart the system.

Install java Web start 1.4.XXversion

then restart your system again.(the setting will be saved)

Hi Axel

The correct command to open Java Control Panel is:

"javaws -viewer"

Then click the "Java" tab and view button on Java Application Runtime Settings. Here you are able to enable or disable the different runtime versions. Remember to install 1.4 version if you dont have it in there.

Best regards,

Chris
