How to get OVS type Field as a Link in Display Mode ?

Hi,

When you open an opportunity and it is in Display mode, I noticed that Account field appear as a Link But If you click "Edit" on the opportunity, then the same Account filed appear as Input Field. How is this possible ?

Is it possible to have a field as Input field(display type OVS) in Edit mode but appear as a Link in Display mode for the same screen design ? OR it is achieved by using a different screen that is loaded based on display or Edit mode ?

I checked the Opportunity TI and theAccount field here is Input field (with OVS). I could not find any other screen to associate to Display mode for TI Header.

So how is this achieved ?

Hi Suchita,

I know it´s late but I just stumbled upon your question and also found a solution.

In the designer you have to set the field as a normal OVS component.

On the DataModel site you can configure a Thing Type Information:
ThingType Mode : Static
Associated ThingType : BusinessObject_TT

And of course you have to configure a OBN Navigation with an Outport and an Event assigned to the field in the Designer.

I hope this helps someone, even if you might not need it anymore.

Hi Suchita,

In Opportunity TI, Account field is designed as OVS (value help) input field. In display mode it automatically displays as Link and no setting it required for this change. All the OVS (Value help) fields are displayed as Link in display mode.

This is UI framework capability and no other settings are required to change OVS to Link in Display mode

I have added Account ID as element in my custom BO and assigned the std. public OVS to it. Everything works fine for the input field and SearchHelpon my custom BO QC screen. However, in Display mode, It is not displayed as a Link.

I wanted to make my custom BO screen behave close to std.

I want to have Account field work same as it works in Opportunity QC and TI in case of std. objects. Any idea how to do this ?
