EWM homogeneous system copy

Hello,

We have a requirement to perform homogeneous system copy of EWM system.

can you please guide how to perform it is using backup / restore method?

Source system : SAP NW 731 on Oracle and windows with EWM addon

Do we need to install SAP NW on target system and backup restore will get the required Add -on?

Hi,

I have already checked system copy guides, but I dont find details specific to EWM copy.

I have installed fresh NW731 installation , will backup / restore will get the Add-ons from source system ? Or I need to install EWM add-on first before backup / restore?

Just perform the system copy - you don't need to install target environment (it will be done automatically). In SWPM you can find a path for system copy.

There is many guides available in the internet. Just look for them and try it out 🙂

Thanks for the comment, I will try system copy option with backup / restore today.

But to understand, if I install plain SAP NW 731 system and does not install EWM add-on , while source system is SAP NW 731 and EWM 9.0 add-on is installed over it. So while doing back / restore, will my target system will have Add-on after restore?

Sorry for simple question as I am trying SAP NW system copy with Add-ons first time.

Yes, after system copy your target system will have all data and additional components that were installed on the source system.
