Hi,
concluding by reading the wiki and the SDN download page
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/wiki?path=/display/trialver/home
https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/nw-downloads
there is currently no trial download for the Enterprise Portal (EP) available. Is this right?
br,
Tobias
As far as I know, J2EE stack has EP in itself.
In the documentation of [SAP NetWeaver 7.0-Java-VMware-Trial|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/4016f0d2-e7e2-2a10-3995-f41cafec9951], it says
Content
SAP NetWeaver Components
u2022 SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Components
o WebAS - J2EE Engine
o EP 7.0
o CAF GP and CAF Core
o CAF Visual Composer
o Adobe Document Service
And if you check this one,[/people/john.ta2/blog/2007/04/26/want-to-learn-sap-system-access-a-must|/people/john.ta2/blog/2007/04/26/want-to-learn-sap-system-access-a-must] it claims that SAP NetWeaver 2004s Java Trial Version contains SAP NetWeaver Portal with Portal Development Kit which stands for Enterprise Portal.

Hi,
after little bit of searching (the SDN download page is a really good example of: make it very hard to find something you would expect under downloads, like Trial version downloads) I've the link to download the Java Trial VMWare:
Well, in the description it says nothing about EP, but it's only 5 GB to download + SuSE image, extract, run, install and verify if it comes with or without EP. Usability, anyone?

Tobias
Hi Tobias,
Can is right, the SAP NetWeaver 7.0-Java-VMware-Trial contains Enterprise Portal, as the portal is one of the core components of a NetWeaver installation.
I run the trial on a Windows Server 2003 host, with VMWare Server 2.0. It almost worked right from the start, but I was not able to use the Visual Administrator until I restarted the virtual machine a few times. Enterprise Portal worked on the first try.
So it is worth trying.
Regards,
Dirk
Yes You are right.
