Barcode Label Printing

Dear Experts,

is it possible to print barcodes on labels using the SAPSprint service ?

The labels are defined as Sapscripts and Smartforms.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Regards,

Marc

One more remark: Is it necessary to use an external BARCODE.DLL for barcode generation or can it be done by the label printer as well ?

Hello,

thanks for the answer.

One point: SAPSprint service is normally located on a server and is a replacement of the SAPlpd service.

Do you know if we can avoid this additional software when the printer has a barcode interpreter ?

I wonder if the SAPSprint service who interprets the barcode in the spool (using the TEC-IT software) can forward it unconverted to the printer if the TEC-IT software is not installed.

Thanks a lot for your help.

Hi Marc,

I didnt find any barcode font in sap bundle. So i guess you will need the 3rd party software.

Lets see if anyone else got some other way to do it.

Hello Pranay,

I did some research on that SAP note "25344 - Interface SAPSprint (SAPFprint) Barcode DLL (details)" states the following:

u201EAn external barcode DLL is to be added to the SAPSprint or SAPFprint.u201C

u201EThe SAPSprint or SAPFprint delegates the task of printing barcodes to an external DLL. SAP does not provide a barcode DLL. The DLL must meet certain requirements so that it can be used.u201C

u201Eu2026u201C

u201EThe following list is of suppliers known to us that manufacturer compatible barcode DLL:

1) e-bizco.com GmbH, Up'n Hoff 1, D-22927 Großhansdorf, Germany

2) TEC-IT Datenverarbeitung GmbH, Wagnerstr. 6, A-4400 Steyr, Austria

3) MW6 Technologies, Inc.u201C

This means to me that if we print barcodes with SAPSprint we must have this barcode.dll even if the printer would be able to interpret it.

Cheers,

Marc

Hi,

Yes it is possible to print bar codes with sapprint service.

Include the new bar code font in the sapscript. eg. CODE 128.

Download the 'TBARCODE' software from the internet. Just check on it.

TBarCode for SAPlpd

version 5.0.0.21

by TEC-IT Datenverarbeitung GmbH

Bar Code Extension (DLL) for SAPlpd

You will have to install the TBARCODE software on the local machine in the folder where SAPlpd.exe is located. Your barcode printer (Dot matrix or any printer ) must be connected to your local machine.

Hope this helps.
