OLE DB (ADO) not ODBC

From playing about trying to resolve this (see below) I have managed to get reports to work from changing the database in Crystal Reports before I save the report. Previously all my reports have been via an ODBC connection, and these same settings are set up on my SQL server.

However if I change the database to be OLE DB (ADO) before saving the reports (in Crystal Reports) and then upload them they work!!!

Does anyone know how I can resolve/change settings to get my ODBC reports to work?

Current Error:-

I am getting an error when I try to preview of run a report:-

CrystalReportViewer

Failed to open the connection. Report3

Unable to retrieve Object.

Failed to open the connection. Report3

The Properties screen shows the thumbnail for the correct report etc
