Batch determination in Sales delivery

We are creating the deliveries in VL10B / VA02. During the delivery creation the system is checking the stock availability at that moment and proposing some batches based on SLED into sales deliveries. Problem is , if there are any un processed deliveries are in pipe line -system is not checking the previous deliveries. So we are able to create many deliveries with same batch number. can any one suggest solution for this problem?

Is this process is linked to availability check?

Look forward for your valuable suggestions.

Thanks and Regards

Hi,

Is it happening for few deliveries or for all?

If this is happening for all, can you please share the configuration steps performed for batch determination ?

There must be something wrong in your setup, probably no availability check. Otherwise you could not have the same batch number proposed over and over again. Please share you details on batch determination. There are several buttons in the delivery batch screens to retrieve the full set of information which is needed to analyze the matter.

That is definitely a problem with ATP checks. Recently I've had an issue with batch determination of materials with KP (no ATP check). The available quantity was always 99999999.

Hi

Thanks to all, We could not go for availability check ( or ATP) . so through a ABAP routine, we could solve the problem (95%).

I think I've seen this problem before. I believe it has to do with the something I refer to as the time fence or planning fence. I'm not an ATP guru so I'm not sure that is the right terminology. My understanding is that it is related to the replenishment. That if you have a batch, and the delivery is out X number of days, and replenishment and lead time are less then that number, SAP sees that the stock will be available because you can make it in time to deliver it. My understanding is that ATP thinks any batch number can be remade. (Which we know is not true). Basically, it doesn't consider batch numbers, only availability and since the delivery falls out of this time fence or planning fence it can be resupplied. Hence, that is why your availability is always showing as 99999999.

I don't exactly remember the solution but I believe you have to make sure your replenishment lead times are longer then the time frame you use to pick deliveries. If you have no replenishment lead times, or they are all very short, that could be the problem.
