How to make copy of a standard fiori app in SAP Web IDE?

I tried importing application from sapui5 abap repository. But I want to make some customizations to the app without disturbing the original application. Is there any way to do it?

I tried creating extension project. But it allows me to make customizations only at certain extension points.

The best approach is using the Extension Project. If you find there are not enough extension points, my recommendation would be to open a support ticket to the relevant Fiori app, and request them.

If they make sense, it should be added.

Please don't import the app and make customizations as it's against best-practices and can cause issues at runtime.
