Inprocess Inspection, rework and traceability

Dear All,

I have the following scenario kindly explain how to map it. Consider i have an FG with 10 operations and 8th operation i have in-process inspection and do result recording for characteristics. I reject some characteristics say 4 characteristics out of 10. Now what client wants is, they want to trace that characteristic defect was caused from which operation in routing and who did that.

For example, if there is defect in "Collar stitch" characteristic, then they should be able to trace this characteristic belongs to which operation in routing and they will give to that operation for rework again.

How to achieve the same..?

according to your description I think it worth to check the Defects recording functionality of QM. For more information search SAP Help and other SAP documentations (or the web) in topic "Defects recording".

If you - for example - record a defect on characteristic level, it is traceable which characteristic is affected and what actions/tasks were done or needs to be done related to that defect. Monitoring and recording of any actions/tasks can take place with help of the defect record notification (basically a quality notification of notification types such as F1, F2, F3).

Dear Albert,

I checked with defects recording which gives me one provision like during result recording, if a characteristic gets rejected and if i press "Enter" a pop up screen will displayed to enter the "defects", defect location" etc.

But then what client wants is, this defect was caused originally during which operation and without any new rework order, they want to perform the same operation and again a lot should be created for same original production order but only for the defected Inspection characteristic.

How to map this, its of high priority here.
