Crystal Reports Network Sharing

What is the file name of the application launcher for Crystal reports 2016 and how can I use crystal reports viewer? Also, how can I use Crystal Reports with Network Sharing?

Hi Brandon,

I think you'll have to clarify what you mean by network sharing. Do you want to be able to have the reports stored on a network folder and be accessible from multiple desktops or did you want to have Crystal Reports installed on the network and run from multiple desktops?

If you want the reports accessible from the network, the shared folder needs to have read and write permissions for the users. Then they can open the report in Crystal and run or edit them.

If you want to have Crystal installed on the network, I don't believe that is allowed any longer. We have Crystal Reports installed on a terminal server and have the users log onto the terminal server to work on the reports. That's a more feasible method for us and we don't have to manage multiple installs.

The application launcher I'm guessing you would like to know the EXE for Crystal Reports? If you have it installed, it will be in the properties of the shortcut but it should be CRW32.exe. I don't have Crystal 2016 but I doubt it would have changed over the last couple of versions.

As far as the viewer goes, you can download the viewer but there if you are looking to integrate reports into an application, have a look at Crystal Reports for Visual Studio as well.
