Logon currently not possible! BI Client

Hi all.

Happy new year to all of you and all the best.

I am having a problem with creating new users in our newly installed IDES SAP ERP 6.0 SR3 / IDES SAP SEM 6.0/SAP BW 7.00

Well, actually creating a new user is not a problem but whenever I try to log in with a newly created user a new window pops up with message "Logon currently not possible! BI Client". This new window does not provide any options other than to click OK and try to log in again. Even if I use standard user IDADMIN provided by default I get the very same message though I have no problems in any of my clients if I use either DDIC or SAP* to log in.

Could anyone point me to what's wrong with my installation?

Problem was that I have named SID "ERP". Once I reinstalled the system (took another 2 days) and gave it a different name everything started clicking.

Hai,

Try to login with SAP* and check the license for your system using SLICENSE Tcode, also check SM21 for any possible cause.

Also check the SCC4 settings for the clients, try the below command from OS level.

tp unlocksys <SID>

Also check the dev_w*, dev_disp trace files..

After this try to login...

I have tried everything that has been suggested. SM21 shows all the logs and nothing looks wrong. SCC4 shows all the clients etc.

Running "tp unlocksys" does not return error.

The only thing that comes to my mind is that I probably shouldn't have named SID 'ERP". I went through the note 1244548 and it says naming ERP might cause logon problems. I will reinstall the system and will catch you here guys again if this problem does not go away.

Thanks for the reply. No, I did not have any problems during installation and no errors were reported.
