Show Material Group Long Description in SRM Product Category ?

Hi,

We have entered Short and Long Decriptions for Material Groups in R/3 and we have run the replication too. We want to show the Long Description of the Product Category to the users on the web screens.

We know there is a setting in SRM to do this but we don't know what it is.

Please let me know if any one has idea.

Hi,

You can load the 60 character description of material group by making an entry in table (transaction SM30) COMC_HIERARCHY. Tick Transer 60 character description box and you will need to reload your material groups again. After that you should get the 60 char description.

You can only transfer one of the two descriptions, if you want Long desc, go to

SM30

COMC_HIERARCHY

NEW ENTRIES

SELECT TRANSFER 60 CHAR DESC.

in the SRM system check the table COMC_HIERARCHY.

You can say here that you want to see the long description!

I can't remember if is necessary replicate once again the Product Category.

In SRM , material group picks comm_categoryt as told by Ravi.

Can you expalin ?

Hi Venkatesh,

i think by default you can see all the characters which are stroed in comm_categoryt table. if you see the table data in SRM it will contain all the description..

In comm_categoryt table we dont have both descriptions. We have only one descriptions that is length 20.
