ILM Audit area

Im trying to create an ILM policy with retention periods, have copied the SAP standard HCMDP audit area to mine Z_HCMDP and assigned few ILM object and retention rules (their set to status live). Does Audit area needs to be activated some how? As now the error message is saying there is no policies for are HCMDP. But I would like system to used my customized Z_HCMDP audit area.

Hi,

As a general rule, If you want only the new audit area, then you need to "uncheck" your object from old audit area .

If the "ILM object" is ticked/selected in multiple audit areas, then you need to maintain live rules and policies for all those audit areas.

Thanks and Regards,

Hi Dharshan,

Thanks for your reply.

In general which approach should we follow? Also, can we change the SAP Standard 'HCMDP' Audit Area
to remove the duplicate objects?

  • To create an audit area, proceed as follows:

    1. Choose Create.
    2. Enter the name (in the Z namespace) and the description of the audit area.
    3. Save by specifying a transport request (Customizing request).
    4. Assign ILM objects to the audit area, as described below.
  • To create an audit area by copying another audit area, or to merge two audit areas, proceed as follows:

    1. Select the source audit area.
    2. Choose Copy.
    3. Enter the following data.

Rahul
