Calibration date (certification date)

Dear all,

We are using PM orders to register our calibration activities. Every item we calibrate are registered as equipments in SAP. We use maintenance plans to trigger the periodic calibration with a PM notification.

Now the question is: what would be the right place in SAP to register the calibration / certification / inspection date? We could check the maintenance plan for the start and the end date, but the maintenance plan is more of a planning tool, not a registration tool.

We need exact registration of the calibration date for documents, labels, audit and reporting purposes

Of course we could create a customizing field in the equipment master to register this, but what would be the advised SAP way of working?

Thanks in advance experts!

If calibration is done through certificate from external vendor, then record the date in service entry sheet and confirm it. Or other date can be pm05 order type confirmation at operation level or on whole order confirmation at iw45. Documents date can be used here . It can also posting date in system.

Its upto your business process comfort level to use in reporting and audits. Filter it wisely.

I am assuming you created an inspection lot for performing the calibration?

If so, I would suggest using the UD date of the inspection lot.
