Data provider for Sybase ASA SQLAnywhere 16 from VS 2017

Hi,

Earlier I was using VS2015 with dattabase Sybase SQL Anywhere 16.0.0.2322.

Recently I have migrated from VS 2015 to VS 2017, but .NET EDMX data provider is not working for Sybase database (same version as above), see the attached Error image below.

I have also registered the providers using %SQLANY16%\Assembly\v4\SetupVSPackage.exe

Commands: SetupVSPackage /ua
SetupVSPackage /i /v 6
SetupVSPackage –i –v EF6

Please guide us how we can resolve this issue.

Hi Hemanth,

Visual Studio 2017 is currently not supported by SQL Anywhere.

Can't tell about that actual issue but you may try with a new v16 support package, the last one AFAIK for Windows is 16.0.0.2693, cf the according readme file. (Note it mentions a fix w.r.t. DDEX provider but that is already fixed in the built you are using.)
