Control of consumption for 2 different req.type of VSF MTS.

Hi All,

I have an Issue, were I need to use strategy 40 MTS with consumption. The request is to use 2 different reuirments types that will be used by 2 types of sale orders. 1 Sale order with req.type A will consume PIR of req.type A, and the second sale order with req.Type B will consume PIR with req.type B. All must be working as VSF strategy 40.

Is it possible to do this setting. If it is, I would like to know your advice on the setting I need to Do.

Thank you,

Hi Boaz,

I don't think that you can do it and still keep 40 as the sole planning strategy.

Instead you could do one of the two:

1. Customize a new requirement type (ZVSF, basically identical to VSF) and a new planning strategy (Z4) with this requirement type.

Then create a planning strategy group that will have 40 as main and Z4 as secondary, and link it to the materials.

Then create PIRs for each requirement type separately.

Now all you need is to make the proper settings in SD so each type of order generates the correct requirement type. If it can't be done automatically, then it needs to be operated manually, e.g. changing the item category (may be a problem).

2. Use the product allocation functionality and ATP in the order against product allocation.

Hi Mario,

I tried to create requirement type "ZSF", but because they both in their "basic-root" are both "planning with final assembly" the system will not be able make the difference between the two. I found even a note about this issue.

Thanks and regards,

Hi Boaz,

Product allocation is a function in SD where you can decide in advance how to allocate your sales quantities to your customers. You can find all the info in the link

I hope that it serves you well.
