Error:AA480(Reversing document) ??

Hi SAPians,

Wish you all Happy New Year-2009 In advance.

The Asset is purchased on 24.12.2008 and is yet capitalized ,so Dep. is not charged too.

But while Reversing the asset Document in AS08 its not reversing and throwing the Error message..

"The Quantity on Asset 1050 45000001-0 will become negative from this posting"

Message No.AA480

Here the Co.Code is :1050

Asset no is :2000006

What may be the reason so that its not reversing,plz suggest.

But how can i see Notes??

i am not authorised to see the sap notes.

if u have SAP NOTES Id and password then plz u watch the same and plz copy and paste here so that i can resolve the problem.

Symptom

You post a complete retirement of a fixed asset that manages quantities. The fixed asset also permits negative values within at least one area. Next you attempt to reverse the retirement. The system displays error AA480 'The quantity on asset & & will become negative from this posting'.

Cause and prerequisites

1. If the fixed asset contains negative values this results in positive amounts during the retirement.

2. The fixed asset manages quantities.

3. The cause is a program error.

Solution

Implement the source code corrections.

Sorry to give you wrong information.actually the quantity of that asset is 4.

37000001-0 is our group asset no.

Hi Biswa,

Can you please tell me how did you resolve this issue. we are also getting the same issue and we are in ECC 6.0 with New GL
