Hello,

I would like to know if is it possible technically to access archive files stored on content server directly from HANA system and then read it and store its content into HANA DB?

What is file format of archive files on content server? Please let me know if you have any information on it.

Regards,

Chandra

See what the docu says: Retrieving Archived Files

You can't read a data archive from outside, you do this either with function modules or with the standard archiving transactions, e.g. from SARA per archiving object.

hi Chandrashekhar,

this may be possible using an etl tool such as SAP BODS, but not directly from the HANA database.

Thanks Jurgen for your reply. Yes I checked SAP help documentation. I came across this blog https://blogs.sap.com/2018/05/06/hana-sltsystem-landscape-transformation-archived-filessara-replicat... and hence would like to know more on it. it looks like there is way to read archive files directly from SLT server and upload it into HANA tables.

Thanks for your answer but I am not sure in which format archive files will be stored into content server and can SAP BODS will be able to parse it as per data structure of archived tables which belongs to Archive object. These are few unknown which will not help me to take further decision.
