Hi Gurus,

What is the difference in functionalities provided by Enterprise Compensation Management and Compensation Management.

Moreover I would like to know the advantages ECM have over CM.

Hi;

The major change in functionality are:

1. Portal interface

2. Better planning interface for the line managers

3. Integration with multi-level workflows can be defined

4. User interface through ESS for end users

The mySAPHR Enterprise Compensation Management (ECM) module supports companies in defining, streamlining, and putting into practice a strategic performance-based compensation program throughout the enterprise. The system offers the following main components to acomplete compensation management solution:

Compensation Administration

Perform compensation reviews including fixed pay, variable pay, and LTIs. Apply eligibility rules and

guidelines based on different criteria such as performance ratings. Implement approval cycles if

required.

Long-Term Incentives

Administer LTI processes such as granting, vesting, life events,and taxation. Transfer granting data

to banks/brokers for exercising and retrieve data back for payroll processing by means of standard

xml interfaces.

Budgeting

Create and maintain monetary and non-monetary budgets for the compensation planning and LTI

granting process.

Job Pricing

Export employee salary data for participation in salary surveys.Import salary survey data and create

market composite results. Age and weight market data, compare internal and external pay and adjust

company pay structure if required.

But all these functionalities are availbale with CM also so what is the diffrenece in ECM.

In ECM we have integration with the Portal

It will be integrated with PA,OM,SAP BW,FI Controlling,Work Force cost planning and simulation,

performance management(objective setting and appraisals)

Thru ESS employee can see his total compensation statement

managers can do the compensation adminstration using MSS

HR Executives will have access the reports

If we have active Workflow compensation changes what ever we do will be reflected in the IT0008 basic pay

Major advantage would be portal functionality in ECM
