PIR as Source of supply with prices from last PO

Hello Team,

I am planning to activate PIRs in my system to determine possible sources of supply - this is to help buyers make decision on who are the vendors that have supplied particular materials in past.

However, when the PIRs are created from PO -> Info Update indicator on, PIR does not hold prices in the Net Price field. However, particular PO gets stored in the Purchase Org. Data 2 -> Last PO reference. So, anytime after the first PO created, i.e. after the PIR created when I create new PR and during PR creation if I click on 'Assign source of supply' button then I see that PIR is offered as one of the possible sources of supply with price from the last PO.

In our case, we may buy same material again after more than couple of months and during this time prices have changed significantly. So, my requirement is to have system proposing vendor material combination but do not want to see price information if PIR does not have valid price, i.e. price coming from last PO.

We also explored the option of source list. But when the PIRs are created via quote submission, PIRs can also have valid prices, i.e. price with correct validity period on it and in this case prices are valid and we do want people to use that PIR record to convert PR to PO. But not from the PIR prices that are appearing with prices from last PO.

Another issue is, there is no real way to differentiate in ME51/ 52N or ME57 that offered sources of supply (PIRs) whether have valid prices or prices from last PO?

Any possible solution/ work around would greatly help here.

Rgds,

KK

Please do not mix source assignment with price adoption, these are 2 different things, which may just happen at the same time.

Price adoption is controlled in the IMG activity Define default values for buyers and user parameter EVO

How shall SAP know whether the price is valid of not, if you have a price in the info record then it is for SAP valid until the valid to date that you entered. If you want valid prices, then you have to maintain info record prices yourself, whenever you get to know a new price or that the old price is not valid anymore.
