Hi Gurus,
Can you please help me out in the steps of configuring SolMan for Early Watch Reports.
Thanks in Advance,
Sachin Kumar.
Hi,
Please find the below steps :
Solution Manager
Adding Satellite systems
Prerequisites
RTCCTOOL
For each satellite system execute program RTCCTOOL and follow the guidelines stated. A newer version of this program is included in the AddOn ST-A/PI.
Step 1
Go TA se38
Step 2
Execute program RTCCTOOL
Step 3
Check the outcome of the report
Step 4
If there are remarks, please read them and act accordingly. In this case update the Addon ST-A/PI
Step 5
Make sure the program RTCCTOOL returns no more errors.
Users
Create the following users in the proper client in the satellite system and assign the appropriate roles to them.
Step 1
Create service user RFCSLMRD for read access.
Assign the following roles to the user
Composite role ZXXXXRFCSLMRD
Composite role Z=USER_PRD
Step 2
Create service user RFCSLMCH for change access.
Assign the following roles to the user
Composite role ZXXXXRFCSLMCH
Composite role Z=USER_PRD
SLD
Make sure the SLD is configured and up-and-running.
Register system with Solution Manager
To register the satellite system with the Solution Manager and start the data capture execute TA rz70 in the satellite system.
Step 1
Execute TA rz70
Step 2
Fill in the SLD Bridge: Gateway information. Here you enter the Solution Manager hostname and its gateway port. Host: <YOUR SLD HOST>
Service: sapgw<xx>
Step 3
Press the activation button.
Step 4
Press the start data collection and job scheduling button
Press Yes.
Step 5
Check if the system registered successfully in the Solution Manager via the SLD.
Change job SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT
In the previous steps a job (SAP_SLD_DATA_COLLECT) has been created that runs every 720 minutes, this job collects changes in the satellite system and reports them to the solution manager. Many company standards require this job to run with a background user.
Step 1
Locate the job via TA sm37.
Step 2
Change the job step and replace the user to a batch-user.
Press the Save button.
Initial setup satellite system
Prerequisites
When adding satellite systems via SLD, the ABAP stack needs to read what has registered in the SLD to transfer it to TA smsy. Schedule this job to a period that suits your needs.
Step 1
Goto TA smsy
Step 2
Goto menu goto Setup System Landscape Maintenance
In the example the job is scheduled every hour.
Adjust the job u201CLANDSCAPE FETCHu201D in TA sm37 to run with an appropriate background user.
Before EWA reports, service desk, customizing, etcu2026 can be configured in the solution manager it needs some RFC-connections to the satellite system. These need to be created in TA smsy.
Step 1
Goto TA smsy.
Step 2
Browse to the satellite system you want to configure.
In this case the SLM is used as solution manager and the DSM is used as satellite system
Step 3
Press the display <-> change button
Step 4
Highlight the line with the client in which the RFC-connections will be created.
Step 5
Press the generate RFC button.
Step 6
Select the options as shown below and assign the correct users and passwords.
Press the generate button.
Since there is no trusted RFC-connection at this point, a login screen will be presented. Login with a user who has sufficient rights.
2 login screens will be presented: (tip: create the same new user in the satellite and the Solution Manager)
u2022
The first one for the satellite system, make sure you logon with a user that has SAP_ALL / SAP_NEW and the role SXXXXTRFCA (contains trusted RFC)
u2022
The second one for the solution manager, make sure you use the same user as in the satellite system with SAP_ALL / SAP_NEW and the role SXXXXTRFCA (contains trusted RFC)
Step 7
The log should be complete green or stated as below.
Due to an error somehow I canu2019t get the BACK connection to register in the SDCCN successful. At a later stage in this document this is corrected manually. FYI: If the user creation from the satellite system to the solution manager is set to generate automatic, then this error doesnu2019t happen.
Step 8
In the satellite system goto TA sm59 and locate the RFC connection SM_<SID>CLNT<CLNT>_BACK.
Step 9
Change the connection and fill in the correct password for the user rfcsolman. Test the connection and check whether remote logon works. (you can also use trusted RFC)
Step 10
Back in the solution manager in TA smsy now press the read system data button for the satellite system RFCu2019s that have just been created.
Step 11
The output must be error free.
System Groups and Logical Components
Add the satellite system to a logical component.
Step 1
Go TA smsy.
Step 2
Select System Groups and Logical Components.
Step 3
Browse to the logical component where the satellite system belongs to
Step 4
Add the satellite system.
Press save.
Create Solution
In order for EWAs etc to run properly all systems need to belong to a u201Csolutionu201D.
Initially this solution needs to be created. Needless to say, more solutions can exist, but a satellite system can only be part of u201Coneu201D solution.
Step 1
Goto TA solution_manager.
Step 2
Press New
Step 3
Enter a name for the solution.
Now a solution is created.
Add logical components to the solution
This step is actually putting the systems into the solution.
Step 1
Goto TA solution_manager.
Step 2
Click on the solution.
Step 3
Select Operations Setup
Step 4
Select Solution Landscape Maintenance.
Step 5
Select the logical component drop down.
Select the satellite system.
Step 6
Per default, the leading role of a solution is defined as production role as all your business processes will run on production systems. They are highlighted by a green colour in the field. You may as well want to have systems with other system roles in your solution (for instance for system monitoring). In this case you need to actually put the system in the solution.
This can be done via right-clicking on the field and select u201Cput in solutionu201D
Press Save.
Configuring EWA reports
Benefits
If you display the EarlyWatch Alert in Solution Manager, you benefit from:

Configure Service Data Control Center (SDCCN)
The initial configuration of the SDCCN has to be done via the spro.
Step 1
Goto TA spro
Step 2
Goto Sap Solution Manager Basic Settings Sap Solution Manager System Operations Setup Service Data Control Center

Step 12
Create a new refresh task. Select Task create
As target RFC destination, select the u201Cbacku201D RFC.
Also select the radio button to run now.
Adjust job /BDL/TASK_PROCESSOR to run with the correct batch user.
Step 13
This will create an EWA task, select this to run now. When it is finished the data is available in the solution manger for processing.
Step 14
Check to see if the job u201CSM: Scheduleru201D has created a job u201CSM:EXEC SERVICESu201D for the next day. This will process the received data and provide an EWA report.
Additionally you can let the Solution Manager mail the EWA reports.
Prerequisite: customize TA SCOT for mail.

Hello Sachin,
Please implement/apply latest ST-PI and ST-API patches in your Dev system.
after applying the patches please execute RTCCTOOL program in Se38 t code.
This program helps in service preperation so that data from your satellite system(Dev) can be sent to
solution manager system.
once you are done with that we can configure Dev system in solution manager system and activate SDCCN.
SDCCN will help in collecting data from dev to Solman.
Please apply ST-PI and ST-API from SAINT transaction if it has never applied into your system.
You can add dev qa and prd system in Solution manager system
Use SMSY t code and add the systems(use add system with assistant option).
this will help you to create the RFC's also which are responsible for cummunicating from Solution manager to Satellite and vice versa.
after that make sure you execute the abap program RTCCTOOL and implement the missing notes thru that only which the report suggests.
let me know if you face any issues for the above steps ...
Cheers,Amber S
