Process Jcontrol.exe not started

Hi Basis Gurus

I have a new SAP NW PI 7.0 instance and I am facing few issues relating to Integration Server(abap) cache refresh etc.

On investigating I have found that in SAP MMC process Jcontrol.exe is in yellow status and always has a status "Starting the process".

I have no idea about this process and I am not a SAP Basis guy.

My question is ... Is this process of significant importance for SAP PI to work properly.

If yes then what can be done to resolve this issue.

Thanx

Lovein

(P.S System info of this instance shows kernel patch as 7.00 PatchLevel 109886.44)

In SAP MMC , you will see a option , J2ee Table/Process

Click on that and let me know of what processes are in green and yellow colour

For your Java to run successfully, there should be SDM, Dispatcher and Server0 in Green colour(in J2ee Table)

Yes all 3 processes u mentioned are in green in process table.

The actual issue is that in cache connectivity test in RWB component monitoring I get an warning message (yellow status) Integration Server(ABAP)

"Attempt to fetch cache data from Integration Directory not yet started or still in process"

In transaction sxi_cache also I am getting error message "Unable to refresh cache contents" "Error during last attempt to refresh cache".

So i think there is an issue with the ITS Service.

Check the log of the ITS or paste the log of ITS here

Hi,

I hope that you have done all the Post Installation Steps. After that create an Buisness System for XI. And also you need to import XI Content. Please check the SAP Note 817920.

Hi Mahesh

I am followingg steps mentioned in the readiness guide(7.0). Till now things look fine except..

In one step where I can check CPA cache history I see few delta cache refresh getting into error.

The XML reads "CPA Cache not updated with directory data.</Message>

<Trace>com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.impl.exception.CPADirectoryCacheException: Couldn't open Directory URL .(http://<host>:50000/dir/hmi_cache_refresh_service/ext?method=CacheRefresh&mode=C&consumer=af.pl4.<host>), due to: HTTP 503: Service Unavailable at com.sap.aii.af.service.cpa.impl.cache.directory.DirectoryAccess.getDataFromDirectory(DirectoryAccess.java:383) at"

Can this be a cause of concern.

Thanx for your help.

Hi Mahesh

Note 940309 is interesting. But why do you think this can be relevant in my issue.

I do not have a different client for my integration server.

I have only 1 client 001 .

Another note 741214 suggests to do a cpa cache refresh using Directory server user I believe PIDIRUSER.

If, for some reason, the cache contents do not correspond to the configuration data maintained in the directory and the activation of the change lists in the directory does not work, a cache refresh (both full and delta) can also be started manually on the Adapter Engine Cache page.

To do this, call the following URL:

http://<host>:<J2EE-Port>/CPACache/refresh?mode=full|delta (Directory service user)

But when I perform cache refresh I do get error user is not authorized. I checked sap guides and verified that user has role "SAP_XI_ID_SERV_USER" and profile "Profil zur Rolle SAP_XI_ID_SERV_USER" maintained in system.

Thanx
