SRM AND ECC

Dear all,

Iam new to SRM.pls explain brief about SRM.

I have installed ECC 6.0 ABAP STACK only hp-ux,db2 9.1.

pls tell me 1.whether we need to install abap+java stack in srm or only java is enough.

2.pls tell me brief explanation about how to go about that.

3.how to link srm and ecc 6.0.whether srm

As said before i have installed abap stack ecc.so only java is enough in my case with srm righ?

if so whether we have to always connect ecc abap and srm java or we can seprate srm server.tell me according to my strategy pls.

i do know any thing in mm as iam a basis consultant.so mm guy will do connection part or basis person should do.connection is nothing but RFC or any other major part is ther from basis side in both servers.?

pls guide me and don mistake me if iam wrong with any question.

Dear Rajesh,

Please give points for useful answers.

SAP recommends SRM and ECC in seperate servers. Coming to SRM installition point of view and integartion point Basis role will be high. Please let me know your complete requirement whether your company purpose or your presonal purpose?

a) : yes. you have to install both Java and ABAP stack for SRM purpose.

2.pls tell me brief explanation about how to go about that.

3) Integartion part you will understand easily either you are having MM exp or abap exp

Dear Rajesh,

SRM is a e-procurement solution and it's web based procurement. If you are having MM knowledge then you can understand very easily or Even if you knew sap-abap then you can understand quickly SAP-SRM.
