Downloading BW Report to Desktop

Hello Colleagues,

I am working on BI 7.0 and would like to Schedule the report download to my desktop. In BW 3.5, there was a option of Download Scheduler, but it seems that in BI 7.0 we need to used BI broadcasting feature for this. But with Broadcasting, we can publish report to portal or send mail as a file and as a link, but I could not see the simple download option to my desktop.

My objective is to automatically download the BW report data to flat file. Later this file will be picked up by some third-party ETL tool.

How it can achieved?

Pankaj,

Even in 3.5 you still need to use precalculation server to download the report to your desktop, I don't think you can use broadcaster to download a report to desktop. Precalcuation server can still be used in 7.0 as well.

Hi Pank,

In BI7, all the 3.5 functionalities including the downloadscheduler are available....
