Transport Workbook

Hi gurus,

I am trying to transport a workbook from dev to production but the transport shows success I cannot view the workbook in the role in production and can't find the workbook also.Can you please help me how do I tranpsport the workbook or do I need to transport the whole role?

Hello,

i dont think thats a problem. you can cancel that pop-up of role.

In transport connection tab in RSA1,transfer just the role and assign it to the workbook request.

AS i said before, view the transport request in SE09, it should have those two only.

After u assure this, release the transport to Production.

One more option would be

Creeate a role "TRANSPORT".( both in DEv/PROD)

Attach the workbook to this role. Now the role and the workbook will be transported to prod.

In production, re-assign the workbook to the actual role you want.

The workbook should be assigned to a role and while moving the workbook you need to move the role along with workbook.

Hi Parth,

Thanks for quick reply when I transport the role it asks for the customizing request and if I tarnsport the role is these case will it tarnsport all the test workbooks in production?

hello,

save the workbook in the DEV sys to a transport request.

when you assign the role to the same transport,select only the role and nothing else.

In T Code SE09, when you display the request, you should see only the two objects,workbook and the role.

In this way now u can release it to production.

Hi Dhanya,

When from transport connection I am trying to transport the workbook, it gives me to attach workbook in the Workbench request while it pops up for another request for customizing and asks for customizing request for roles tranport. It does not take reference of role in workbench request.

My fear is it should not transport all the unwanted workbooks from dev system to production.
