User defined installation: CR XI modules

Hi @ all!

We use the CR XI modules

- CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Reportengine.msm

- CrystalReports11_5_RDC_Runtime.msm

within our own products for reports.

The integration of CR XI as silent installation (during our own install process) seems to be no problem.But the setup of the modules extracts the components in the path C:\PROGRAM FILES\BUSINESS OBJECTS...

My question:

How can I change the install path? By parameters?

e. g.: the default path for our product is c:\%product name%. now we want to install the modules into c:\%product name%\crystal reports.

Hope for help! 😊

Greetings, Joern Coelsch

    Best regards

    Symptom

    How do you perform a silent install of Crystal Reports XI from the command line?

    Resolution

    To perform a silent install of Crystal Reports XI, use the following syntax from the command line:

    "D:\cr xi\setup.exe" CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qn+ INSTALLLEVEL=5 PIDKEY=XXXXX INSTALLDIR="C:\Program Files\Business Objects" COMMONVERDIR="C:\Program Files\Common Files\Business Objects\3.0" ADDLOCAL=ALL

    Explanation of syntax:

    "D:\CR XI\win32\setup.exe": directory of where the setup.exe is located

    ====================

    NOTE:

    If you are installing the Multi-Language Build of Crystal Reports XI, specify the msi.exe file rather than setup.exe.

    ====================

    CLIENTLANGUAGE=EN: language you want to install

    REBOOT=ReallySuppress: suppress system reboot

    /qn+: no user interaction, notify of install completion

    PIDKEY=XXXXX: keycode

    INSTALLDIR: where you want Crystal Reports XI installed to, but you do not need this if you want it installed to the default C drive

    COMMONVERDIR: where you want to install the common files

    ADDLOCAL=ALL: specifies a list of features, delimited by commas that you want to install

    ====================

    NOTE:

    When using any of the EXCLUDE parameters in this table, you must also use ADDLOCAL.

    For example, ADDLOCAL=ALL

    EXCLUDERDCFILES=1

    ====================

    Additional Parameters

    -

    " EXCLUDEDOTNETFILES: Specifies whether the .NET developer

    components should be installed.

    For example, EXCLUDEDOTNETFILES=1

    The default value is 0, which indicates that the .NET developer components

    should be installed. The value 1 indicates these components should not

    be installed.

    " EXCLUDEJAVAFILES: Specifies whether the Java developer

    components should be installed.

    For example, EXCLUDEJAVAFILES=1

    The default value is 0, which indicates that the Java developer components

    should be installed. The value 1 indicates these components should not

    be installed.

    " EXCLUDERDCFILES Specifies whether the RDC developer

    components should be installed.

    For example, EXCLUDERDCFILES=1

    The default value is 0, which indicates that the RDC developer components

    should be installed. The value 1 indicates these components should not

    be installed
