Hi friends

Does 0FI_GL_4, 0EC_PCA_1 and 0CO_OM_OPA_6 datasources support Real time reporting (RDA)?

Chandu.

hi,

none of these datasources are Real Time Enabled, hence they will not support Real Time reporting.

you can check the same in RSA2 tcode, provide the datasource name and then goto the extractor tab.

hope it helps,

Parth.

Hi

Do they support RDA since the safety interval for 0FI_GL_4 is one day?

Hi

It would be difficult to make RDA which does not have RDA functionality, As far I know.

May be you can test the same .

Hi

I think this option is not by default. We need to change them to real time enable to use.

I've red couple of threads that we can change them to RDA enable and use them but once we changed then it's possible to use the same extractor for normal schedule.

Chandu.

Though u changed datasource (RDA enabled), RDA functionality only works with RDA Infopackage, RDA DTP and Daemon settings.

Once u delete the assignment of RDA Infopackage, RDA DTP and Daemon settings, then the datasource behaves as normal.

Hi All

Thanks for the replies.

I would like to use RDA's on 0FI_GL_4 datasource. Since the safety interval for 0FI_GL_4 is a calander day that means it takes a calander day to update delta queue with changes then it pull through the changes into BW world,my doubt is Does it work for RDA's as RDA updates data every minute/hourly in a day .

Please thropugh some lights.

Hi,

Try to add time chars for the Hourly update in the Transformation, Not sure may work in your case.

Dear Chandu,

Real-time data acquisition supports tactical decision-making. It also supports operational reporting by allowing you to send data to the delta queue or PSA table in real-time. You then use a daemon to transfer DataStore objects to the operational DataStore layer at frequent regular intervals. The data is stored persistently in BI.

We recommend that you use real-time data acquisition if you want to transfer data to BI at shorter intervals (every minute) than scheduled data transfers and you need up-to-date data to be regularly available in reporting (several times a day, at least).

Prerequisites

● The DataSource has to support real-time data acquisition.

Web service DataSources and DataSources from SAP source systems can support real-time data acquisition. In DataSource maintenance, the Extraction tab page shows whether the Real Time property is set.

DataSources from SAP source systems can be used for real-time data acquisition if the following prerequisites are met:

○ BI Content DataSources have to be delivered with the property for supporting real-time data acquisition.

○ The Real-Time-Enabl.indicator has to be set in the generic delta settings for generic DataSources

Note that real-time data acquisition as a property of DataSources in SAP source systems is only possible technically under the following circumstances: In the source system, the BI Service API has at least the version Plug-In-Basis 2005.1 or for 4.6C source systems Plug-In 2004.1 SP10.

Note also that you can only use a Web service DataSource for real-time data acquisition if you have defined it in the (new) DataSource maintenance in BI.

● You use a transformation between the PSA and DataStore object and update data into DataStore objects from the PSA using the data transfer process.

CONSTRAINTS:

DataSources that are used for real-time data acquisition cannot be used in the delta process for standard data transfer (scheduled staging). A data transfer with RDA and a scheduled data transfer cannot be executed simultaneously in the delta process for a DataSource because there may be only one entry in the delta queue for each DataSource and target system.

In addition to a pure RDA update and a pure standard update, the following update methods, in which both transfer mechanisms are used in parallel, are possible for data that was transferred to the PSA by real-time data acquisition:

The data is updated from the PSA to a DataStore object with a DTP for real-time data acquisition, and to another DataStore object with a standard DTP.

Hi

These are not real time enabled by default.

Hi Chandu,

You can check in RSA2 for the datasources. There is a field there 'Realtime Enabled'?

I dont think they are real time enabled by default.

Thanks.

Hi

Thanks for the quick response.

They are not real time enabled at the moment on RSA2.But If i change them to real time enabled then does they work fine or they dont support real time ?

Since the safety interval for 0FI_GL_4 is one day .

Chandu.
