alernate Bom does not explose in Production Process Order

Hi Guy

I have created an alternate BOM but when I changed by Production Process Order (COR2), my alternate BOM under the Production Vers is changed but the Bill of Material, the alternate section is still remain 1 instead of 2.

the alternate BOM is valid from 17.12.2008 to 31.12.2008.

Any idea how to resolve this problem.

    Hi ,

Goto MRP 4 view in material master and check the production version 2 details.

Double click the production version 02 , it should contain the BOM =Alt BOM "2' created.

If this is correct when you change the Production Version in CR02 by going to Read PP Master system will show the Alternate BOM 2 itself.

    Dear,

In production version and Alternate BOM. You have to differentiate between PV 1 & PV 2 by header quantity ( say 1- 10000 for first 10001 - 100000 ) or by Validity date. Then only the system will pick automatically the required BOM.

BOM selection setting is in mrp 4 view of material master.

You can select based on lot size, date or production version.

Otherwise you have to manually select the BOM. By doing setting in COR4 order type dependent parameter ( PV selection Manual ).

    Hi

I can select my Production Ver. to 2, but under the Bill of Material the ALternate BOM is still remained at Ver.1

I try using another material to do my production process Order.. I can change the alternate BOM easily, but not for the above material

    Pls advise

      Hi,

If two valid production versions are available, system will take the first valid production version.

      Please follow following thread link.

.If two valid production versions are available, system will take the first valid production version.

.In MD61,when you enter PIRs ,go to schedule in tab page,on menu bar go to "setting"&select 'production version'.Now in 'Version' field you can choose any version, out of existing production version.

One PIRs are saved for required production version, you can go for MRP run(MD01/MD02/MDBT.........).Planned order will be created for required version after MRP run.

Hope this will solve your issue.

      Regards,

    Hi,

Check whether you have assign correct alt. BOM counter to that new production version. Also check valid to and from date of that production version. It should match with explosion date of Production version in Master Data tab of Process Order.
