Hi Experts:
I meet a question in the Delivery Order Configuration within SD module. When I create the delivery order, the location of "picked quantity" is grey out. That means before I post goods issue, I must create a Transfer Order (TO). But in our project the TO is unecessary to be involved.
Could any one help me to find the procedure of configuring the Delivery order with TO(Transfer Order).
Thanks!
David Wang
Dear David wang,
This due to activation of the ware house management to your plant and storage location.
So If you don't want ware house management realsted settings to your plant then you go through this IMG then remove the settings.
SPRO>IMG>Enterprisestructure>Assignment>Logistics Execution-->Assign warehouse number to plant/storage location here you can remove the ware house assignment to your plant and storage location.
I hope this will help you,
Regards,
Murali.

Dear Murali:
I have tried your solution but did not find the reason. Maybe the problem of this case is not here.
Because after I changed the "shipping condition" in "define sales order type(VOV8)" , the result is different.
For example, when i choose shipping condition "02" , the transfer order is necessary to be created. But when i choose "10" , the transfer order is unecessary to be created.
Maybe there is some procedure that releated to "shipping condition".
Could it be possible?
Best Regards!
David Wang
Hi,
Just go to OVB6 and check if in requirement for picking in delivery if any logic has been written about the shipping conditions. I mean to say that in OVB6 you'll see two columns as, ' Routine' & 'Subsequate Functions'.. now over there there would be some routine number assigned against Subseq. function 11.. check if in that routine anything is written which takes shipping conditions into account for TO to be created or not...

Dear Murali,
If someone has pain in their legs should they cut it off? Maybe they should and could find better solution to get rid off the pain.
I mean detach WH from the SLoc/plant combination may cause inconsistencies....
Dear David,
Do not do what Murali told you unless you are sure it won't cause any problem but I have serious doubts...
If you use warehouse management (plant/Sloc combination is assigned to the WH), in most cases you cannot avoid the creation of TOs for deliveries.
In warehouse management goods movements are realized by TOs (stock levels of "normal" storage bin are updated by TOs). In certain cases it is possible to post GI w/o picking and creating TOs, but this requires special settings in WM-Shipping interface (in this case you can set a normal bin as fixed interim bin).
So, I'm afraid you have to use TOs to do picking in WH managed storage location.

Hi,
In the "Define Item Category for Delivery" you can find an indicator of "Relevant for Picking" in the block "Warehouse control and packing", you can use it to control creating TO or not, but the prerequisition is the WM was activated for the shipping storage location in advance.
Good day
