Linking documents

Hi,

I have the following requirement and need your help. Document #1 is the parent or master document. Document #2 is a child or related document. Users want to connect both documents in a simple manner without modifying documents content. One way should be to modify a property metadata. But I do not find a usefull property or type of property. Using HTML as property type means to write something like <a href....>.

What can we do?

Thanks,

Ray

Hi Ray,

you can create your own KM properties in the KM configuration.

You can then write your own property renderer that supports your UI requirements.

You can simply stick links into string properties, but I guess you're looking for UI support as well? Also, do you expect the system to maintain link consistency?

Hi,

thank you for answering. UI Support is the problem. If I use property type "user" or "date" a small support for input or update is available. For property types "RID" or "URL" the users have to type characters in the input field instead of choosing the target of an Link.

Ciao
