Different Request Delivery Date & Goods Issue Date

Hi SD Experts,

Please find my queries as below:

1. How do i configure the system to propose delivery date as today's date? Currently the system now always propose tomorrow's date but i want it to be today's date. Assuming today is 21st December but the system is always giving 22nd December. Anything that can be done inside SPRO? Inside VOV8 i just tick 'Propose Delivery Date' but i left the box empty for 'Lead time in days'

2. Assuming today is 21st December, and i created a SO. The goods issue date is always tomorrow's date as well which is 22nd December. I want the goods issue date to follow 'Request Delivery Date'

3. In conclusion, why is 'Request Delivery Date' is always tomorrow's date?

Anything that can be done? Please help

Hi

Guess, the system is considering the calendar assigned to the Sales Organisation and since today is a sunday, a holiday, the requested delivery date is not defaulted with today's date. This can be confirmed only when you try the same by creating a sales order on Monday and checking the requested delivery date defaulted in the sales order.

The configuration in VOV8 will result in defaulting the requested delivery date in the sales order. To my knowledge this is the only factor that controls this value. The other factors like Pick/Pack time, loading time, transit time etc., are considered only for Scheduling(backward or forward) and not for defaulting the Requested delivery date.

Please try with giving one day in VOV8 and save the changes and create an order...and check the Requested delivery date defaulted.

I tried giving 1 day in VOV8. The results i got was:

today's date is 21st Dec and sales order request delivery date is 23rd Dec

Hi Lee

As i have clearly explained in my previous thread , This is because of the Factory Calendar which you have maintained in shipping point .As system first checks the shipping point factory calendar only. Now in VOV8 after maintaining the Lead time in days as 1 day it will give the delivery date as 23/12/08 only and if you don't maintain it will give as 22/12/08. But it wont give the delivery date as todays date this is because of the factory calendar only .

A request delivery date comes if you maintain the lead time in days in VOV8 , GR time , In-house production time RLT in days in MMR , based on that the you will get the requested delivery date If you keep the fields blank then you will get the request delivery date as todays date only but if you have assigned factory calendar in shipping point and if you create sales order on Saturday (19/12/2008) then the delivery date will be on Monday i.e., 22/12/2008.

Now if you want the goods issue date as different date then the delivery date should be different ,if you fill any one feild and check then you will get the different goods issue date

Coming finally you are getting a request delivery date as tomorrow's date because of the factory calendar you have assigned to shipping point and to the CMR

I've checked all and it is according to what you've mentioned.

Could it be a SUNDAY?

21st December is a SUNDAYand system is proposing 22nd December which is MONDAY?

Or maybe I should try creating SO tomorrow

Hi

Apart from the ticking the proposed delivery date and maintainig the lead as 0 or blank in VOV8 for your order type

In img-enterprise structure-definition-logistics execution-define shipping pt

In that choose your shipping pt and go to its details maintain loading time and pick/pack time as BLANK

In Img---logistics execution ---deliveries there also have you have to search out somewhere within this and you have to details maintain loading time and pick/pack time as BLANK

Right now i dont have SAP access.hence i am not able to give you the exact path for this

I hope that you are not maintaining any ROUTE (because the transit and transportation lead time is taken from route) hence no problem

Now create an order and see (provided you have enough stocks in MMBEin unrestricted)

The same day you can deliver and bill
