Hi Experts,

I have a doubt. At this question, the user closed the question with the reason "The question is answered, right answer was accepted", but there is no answer marked as correct.

Is this a bug?

A sample case:

Hello Diego, I do not think it is a bug. The user who posts the question will have to click on "Accept" on the correct answer from the responses that the user receives. You can reach out to the person who posted the question and request him/her to accept your answer.

Thanks

Why not just add a message: "hey buddy, you didn't chose a best answer yet" when closing?

I believe this process requires some clarification. On the old website we'd just click "correct answer" and it closed the discussion. On the New SCN we have two separate processes: one is to select best answer and another is to close the discussion. And they are not at all connected, as OP pointed out.

To be honest, I'm quite confused why these two processes are needed and what exactly is their meaning. At minimum, this needs to be explained to the community. At maximum, we need a simpler process.

Hi Sajid,

Thank you for the answer. I understood that is the process. But I agree with Jelena, that is not clear for me why this two process seems to be not connected.

Hello Jelena,

I agree that there needs to be more training and awareness around these basic Question and Answer features in our new platform. I will forward this idea to the SME taking care of this so they can take further action. And I believe the idea of having to "Accept" an answer is only when the OP receives a reply that sufficiently answers all his inquiries. And after doing so, he/she should "close" the question. On the other hand, if the OP does not receive a satisfactory reply after the question being on the Community for a long time, the user still has the chance to "close" the question and is allowed different reasons for doing as such:

I think that your idea of automatically closing a question once an answer is accepted is very interesting and I am sure our SME would have more thoughts towards that.

Thanks for your suggestion
