Locked records

Hi all,

I want to know when i open any data in change mode (customer master, material master, etc...) the system lock that record and if any other user try to open that record the system displays "This is locked by XXX".

Where does the system store that info??

Lock Entries Can be seen in RS12/SM12.

Can you tell me why the system doesn;t tell the user name in the case of "FD32"

Hi Mostafa,

I tried with FD32,SM12 should give you Username information.

May be you ran transaction with your username(Which is by default oon SM12 screen) and FD32 is locked under oher user.

So Just try to run SM12 without Giving the Username on First screen.Run SM12 Wide open.You will be able to see the entries in SM12 with username.

Yea you are right but i mean why the system tells "Account 1454 is currently blocked by another user" not "blocked by user xxx"

Hi Mostafa,

Yes,I tried this, this is Standard behavior.

You can see from SE91 with message class F4 message Number 309 .This message is triggering at the time of Lock checking for Fd32. Either one solution you have to enhance this message class with Repairs.But i would not suggest you to do this.Better if you could live with this situation,as i cannot see any urgency or necessity for this message.

Hi Mostafa,

Only by Enhancing the message won't be sufficient for you.cause this message is coming from Include MF02CFS0 line number 406.Here you need to Change this line from MESSAGE E309 WITH KNA1-KUNNR to MESSAGE E309 WITH KNA1-KUNNR SY-UNAME.

And in SE91 you must change Message class F4 and message number 309 from Account & is currently blocked by another user to Account & is currently blocked by &.than finally you will be able to see exact message which you are looking.

You may need the Access key to change MF02CFS0,as i can see there is no enhancement point for the line 406.

But I'm surprised, can't you Live with this existing message?What is the necessity?Although this case(locking issue) would happend once in a while.

If still you are desperate to see the the username with message than can't you see the lock entries in SM12,it will show you entry with username.(Back to square)

Actually it is not that i can't live with that message however it is that i want to know more and more about the system and get more and deeply involved in it. That's it
