EWM --> Putaway of Different Stock Types into same bin

Hi Experts,

My requirement is to do Putaway of different Stock Type like F2&Q4 into the same bin.

My Putaway Strategy is Addition to Existing Stock / Empty Bin

Defined a new stock type group(FQ) and assigned the Stock Type (F2&Q4) to this Stock Type Group.

In Search Sequence for Putaway mentioned the Stock Type Group also.

Still it is suggesting the Empty Bin not the Bin which contains same Product / Batch.

Kindly suggest how this can be requirement achieved.

Hi Juergen,

Thanks for your reply.

In our warehouse we have storage facility as Racks, each Bin of the Rack can hold 20 Pallets.

So we have defined the Storage Behavior as Bulk in my St.Type config in order to restrict the Max Pallets to 20 in Bin.

My requirement is to do Putaway of different Stock Type like F2&Q4 into the same bin.

Kindly suggest in this scenario how can I achieve it please

Hi Juergen Pitz,

Thanks for your reply.

My requirement is to do Putaway of different Stock Type like F2&Q4 into the same bin as a Mixed Storage in the Bin.

Physical Storage is in Racks wherein each rack Bin can contains 10 Pallets each.

How can achieve my requirement kindly suggest.

Regards

Ramesh

Hi,

ok, you have bulk storage. And I suppose you allowed mixed storage (because, again, this is MIXED storage).

So I guess you have to go with what Natalia Machado wrote:

"The standard putaway bin determination will never mix different batches of the same product automatically (even when allowed in the customizing).
The customizing setting "Addition to Existing Stock/ Empty BIN" with same product but different batches will automatically only if the customizing 'Storage Behaviour' = '2 - Bulk Storage' is used.
For these Bulk Storage types the addition to existing stock is done on product basis only, thus different batches of the same products will be mixed automatically by the system.
There is also the option to use BAdI /SCWM/EX_CORE_PTS_NBIN_NRM."

and

"Yes, you have to use BAdI /SCWM/EX_CORE_PTS_NBIN_BLK to use addition to stock to existing bin with different batches of same Product.
Without it, the standard putaway bin determination will never mix different batches of the same product automatically."

Now Natalia describes the behavior regarding batches, and I can not read the coding, but I would bet it works the same with different stock types. By itself the system does no create a mixed storage. Except in the case of the "Open storage" strategy.

Hi Ramesh,

Do not specify any availability group in the Storage type definition. This will allow you to have the same product with stock type F2, Q2 and so on.

thanks,

Hi Juergen.

It is possible to add different batches of a product in bulk storage automatically without BADI /SCWM/EX_CORE_PTS_NBIN_BLK.

All you have to do is make the batch neutral setting at the storage type level

Hi,

"My requirement is to do Putaway of different Stock Type like F2&Q4 into the same bin.

My Putaway Strategy is Addition to Existing Stock / Empty Bin"

As I wrote already: how should that work? Having two stock types in one bin is mixed storage, not addition to stock. And which strategy creates a mixed storage? Not "Addition to Existing Stock / Empty Bin".

Hi,

1. check the activation of the mixed stock types check box in storage type putaway control area

2. check the posting change bin options in Goods Movement control in storage type

3. Finally check the posting change settings for WPT under 'settings for posting changes'.

It seems you are using the batch also, you can check the mixed storage options in storage type as well.

Please note that batch status also a control parameter to update the quant.
