How to model data?

Hello experts!

Maybe a simple questions but I don't have any good ideas yet.

I hava a application which has the following 4 tables in source system:

-> header

-> item

-> material group

-> plant

So, the key figures are correct for header/item level. But for one header/item relationship it is possible that I have n material groups or n plants.If I would JOIN all the tables I would have the following situation:

header item matgrp key figure

abc 1 a001 100

abc 1 a002 100

abc 1 a003 100

abc 2 a001 50

The correct value for abc is in sum 100. The correct value for a001 is 150 in sum. If I would have the data in the shown granularity I would get 300 for abc which is incorrect.

How can I model this so that I can use all possibilities correctly?

Best regards,

Peter

    Hey!

    I found out I'm not the first having this problem. I got some ideas finding a solution reading the following:

    headeritem-extractor-data-modelling-question

    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/3668618d-0c01-0010-1ab5-aa75c3a4dfc2

    After reading this all I think my presentation of the problem is maybe not so clear as it should to get answers.

    Answered.

    Best regards,
