Posting Cacluated WIP to Financial Accounting

Dear Gurus,

Posting of calculated WIP in CO to Financial Accounting is happening only after settlement and status of order is TECHO, whether it is correct or not???

Please confirm whether I have to make the each order status as TECHO to post the calculated WIP to Financial Accounting.

Dear Sivakumar,

Discuss with your MRP controllers whether the orders which are confirmed and delivered needs to be done TECO. Many a times it happens that old orders keep on appearing as WIP simply because Confirmed, Delivered and TECO is not done.

Once an order is done TECO, credit goes to calculated WIP account

Hi, Yes. Accounting Documents are posted at the time of settlement. But, after doing TECO to the Production Order, the WIP is reversed and variance is calculated and then posted at the time of settlement. Only when the Production order is not made TECO, the WIP is calculated. When the Production order is fully delivered and complete in all respects, you make the TECO and automatically, the system shall reverse the WIP and variance is calculated. Do not do TECO on the wrong notion that WIP shall be calculated. Let me know whether you have not understood. Trust this helps much! Cheers!

Hi, WIP Calculation and posting happens when the Production Order is released and not technically complete. Once, the PO is made techinically complete, the WIP shall be reversed and Variances shall be posted. This is the general principle. But your query is whether WIP is calculated when the PO is made technically completed. The Answer is NO. Trust this helps much! Cheers!

WIP is calculated when the production order is in Released status, If it is in Teco Status it cannot calaculate WIP.

only after WIP is calculated , Then we make it as TECO for settlement of Variance.
