I am trying to install Crystal Reports on Windows XP SP2 but it comes up with an Error when starting the install.

"Crystal Reports XI installation ended prematurely because of an error"

Then I click "OK"

"Fatal Error during installation "

And I will not spend an additional $200 for support to install a product i just purchased for over $500 when my system exceeds the minimum requirements!

I expect a reply shortly.

We were having a problem trying to install Crystal 2008 sp3 on a new laptop. It would hang forever. We had installed Business Objects Enterprise sp3. This was the problem. We uninstalled Enterprise and installed Crystal 2008 with no problem. Then we reinstalled BOBJ Enterprise.

I have the same issue reported here and the solutions provided didn't work. Was this issue ever resolved?

Hi Michael,

To solve this issue have a look to Business Objects Note # 1218820 .

Can be searched from [here|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/businessobjects-notes].

Have tried both solutions, still the same problem.

When I went to reset DCOM, the DefaultAccessPermissions was not there.

Hi,

Do you have any antivirus installed on your machine if yes "turn the antivirus OFF" and then try installing

Also Are you trying to install from the CD if yes then try to copy the software into your drive and try to install.

Do you have the administrator permission to your work station. If no then try to login using an administrator account and try to install the software.

Are you trying to install CRXI from the network drive if yes then try to copy it on to your workstation and install the software.

Regards,

Vinay
