Can we use CMS without DTR and CBS for a while?

Our NWDI installation is distributed on more than one server.

The server with DTR and CBS needs to be down for 2 days for an OS maintenance.

However we need to use CMS every day (even weekends) for heavy java tp.

Can we use CMS without DTR and CBS for a while?

Thanks!

You should be able to use CMS for transports of SCs only.

If you specify your component as required and check-in SCA files and transport, it will work.

You also need to make sure you use central SLD and it is available during this time.

Since DTR and CBS are down, no development or SC assembly is possible.

Where do you take SCA files for transports then?

Are they going to be pre-assembled, or delivered from a vendor?

We only have in-house development.

And we want to tp to QA and PRD.

Since you say no assembly is possible in the said scenario, I guess it means

that no tp to QA and PRD would be poosible if DTR and CBS are NOT available.

Am I right?

Thanks!

Assembly happens before QAS when dev activities are released to transport, so no tp to QAS.

SCs that are in QAS should be transported to PRD OK, since they are already assembled.

You can also find assembly SCA files in the CMS disk and deploy them to PRD via SDM.
